Yorkshire 3 Peaks Part 3 - The Finale
Thank you for visiting our page.
I came across Team Verrico through a mutual love of VW's.
My husband Steve has a rare cancer called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei which originates in the appendix. We were at a stage in Steve's care where the cancer wasn't responding to chemo and the surgeon said it was too advanced to carry out a successful surgery.
By a simple twist of fete and the aforementioned VW's I made contact with Team Verrico - they said they could help!
Within no time at all we were off to Londons Harley street to see a top professor in the Oncology world, all funded by Team Verrico. Immediately the professor recommended a change of chemo which has had a huge positive affect on Steve's health!
Since Steve went into hospital in November (2018) for major surgery Team Verrico continued to support our family by covering transport costs and accommodation, childcare and cleaning! It didn't stop there...... They have now recently funded another second opinion AND covering the costs of sending Steve's biopsy to America for molecular testing which will hopefully result in a more targeted treatment plan with the possibility of trials and immunotherapy!
Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge
I am lucky to have an amazing circle of friends - some of whom have chosen to take part in my 3rd and final 3 peaks challenge.
As a team we will be taking on the famous 3 peaks whilst committing to raise £100 each for Team Verrico.
We aim to complete the challenge in less than 12 hours - no easy task!
It will cover a distance of 24 miles and height of 2400 ft per peak...ahem mountain!
