Raising money for
PTEN Research Foundation
May 2014 after years of poor health my daughter Charlotte had tonsils and adenoids removed. They were the largest the consultant had ever seen.
August 2015 I found two lumps in the front of her throat around her thyroid.
March 2016 her thyroid was removed and we were later told that she had a 2.5 cm malignant tumour on one thyroid and a 2cm benign tumour on the other.
May 2016 she had radioactive iodine treatment.
November 2016 we had the devastating news that she had Cowden syndrome and would be at a huge risk of cancer for the rest of her life.
April 2017 we were told she had chronic fatigue syndrome most likely as a result of all she had been through.
November 2017 Postural Orthstatic Tachycardia Syndrome was added to her diagnoses.
She is now 13 and unable to attend school or see her friends all of this stems from Cowdens
Xfit For Cowden Syndrome
I have set myself a personal challenge I am committing to a minimum of 5 sessions of CrossFit a week for one year, each time I miss one I donate £5. no exceptions. I am also going to donate £10 each time I hit a personal best and £15 for each new skill I learn.
How can you help?
I would love you to set yourself a challenge of your own choice, be it CrossFit, running, swimming or any activity. Set your own penalties for missed days. Or you could sponsor me on my challenge. Perhaps you could sponsor me to achieve a particular skill such as a handstand, or run a fundraising WOD at your box. I am really open to any ideas as to how you would like to help CrossFit for Cowdens.
