St Wilfrid's in Grappenhall is a lively growing Church which aims to serve the whole Grappenhall community, as a place where good things can happen.
Raising money for
St Wilfrid's Church Grappenhall
But...it is lacking in some basic 20th century facilities. The project is to build an annex onto the hidden (north) side of the church which can act as a flexible discovery centre, classroom, place to relax and place to make friends. It will have a small refreshment bar, toilets including
baby and wheelchair friendly facilities and storage space to assist our volunteers who keep St Wilfrid's looking so attractive and welcoming. The church will be linked by a step free pathway to a new off-street car park.
This what people have said:
"This will help the church and community grow together. New housing developments are planned so the village needs a strong focal point for residents."
One mother of 3 infants explained that provision of toilets and a quiet area all “under one roof” would give her the option to take her children to church without requiring the help of another adult.
One older resident said "It may be that we made-do in the past but that does not mean that people should do so in the future.
