Running the London Marathon for Enrych
After relocating to Thame for a new job I saw an advert to become a volunteer for Enrych. The advert mentioned a young girl of a similar age to myself with Cerebal Palsy who would like to go out for a coffee and a chat, maybe a trip to the cinema, or even shopping from time to time. Not knowing many people in the area, I thought it would be a great opportunity to meet people and give something back to the community. Over three years later, it has been one of the best decisions I've made. I have gained an amazing friend, and thoroughly enjoy our trips out. In contrast to the ad, we discovered coffee isn't our thing - we're both hot chocolate lovers and have enjoyed many of these in the pub together! In the summer we venture out for long walks in the fresh air, putting the world to rights. I didn't realise how much it would change my life, but meeting Anna has inspired me greatly. I am really proud of everything she's achieved and can think of no better charity to fund raise for!
London Marathon 2017
Running a marathon has always been on my list of things to do. When my acceptance letter for London 2017 arrived, I was super excited at the prospect of achieving my dream - little did I know how challenging it would be! Blisters, strains, pains and pure exhaustion have got me thinking 'Why did I think this was a good idea?' I am however determined to make it over the finish line, whether that be sprinting or staggering over it. Any donations made will definitely keep me going when it gets tough! Let the countdown to the 23rd April begin...
