Walk for Steam
I put off going on The Bluebell Railway for years but having been there once I now love it and regularly take my grandchildren there. They love it too. If you have ever enjoyed a steam train ride, perhaps even Bluebell itself, please consider sponsoring me to walk the length of the track. Their two projects to get carriages and engines awaiting refurbishment under cover to prevent more damage, and to build an accessible teaching centre.
Bluebell Railway Track Trek 2016
With no trains running due to engineering works at Horsted Keynes this year's Track Trek sponsored walk will cover the entire line from East Grinstead to Sheffield Park, a distance of eleven miles. The walk will take place during the daytime on Saturday 12 November. This year's walk will raise money for two appeals with all funds being equally split between ASH - Accessible Steam Heritage and Operation Undercover Phase 4.
We have decided this year to offer a second, shorter walk for those who feel eleven miles is a bit too much. If a five mile walk sounds more to your liking then you can walk from Horsted Keynes to Sheffield Park.
A free bus service will operate to take you back to your original starting point.
