About
Thank you for taking time to read my page! I'm an enthusiastic cyclist and the opportunity to combine two wheels and one incredible cause is a dream come true.
Being a doctor working in Brighton in the UK, I'm generally protected from the shocking and sustained plight of refugees the world over and all too often this struggle seems distant.
However, I believe as humans we share a connectedness and responsibility for each other that crosses borders. There is far more that unites us than divides us. It is a fortunate privilege that I am in a position to help in any small way I can. For me, at this time, this means cycling a ruddy long way through Bulgaria and Greece, having a good time en route, and arriving in Athens at a charity I feel captures and provides this sense of community.
Donations of £20 or more earn you a free T shirt! The image which I designed appears in the gallery section of my donation page. The T shirts are plain white with the image on the left breast. Please put down your name with your donation and I will be in touch regarding T shirt size and image choice.

London to Athens 2018
A group of not-so-serious cyclists have set themselves the serious challenge of cycling between London and Athens. The ride is a relay-style challenge, with each participant taking on a week or two of the overall trip.
We are fundraising for Khora; a grassroots, proactive association running a community centre in Athens. Their centre provides basic and human needs for people without freedom of movement. This includes free nutritious food, clothing, education, access to information and a safe space to build relationships and relax.
Equally important to what they offer, is how they offer it. Khora is run by volunteers from all over the world. Its team includes members of the local Greek community, the refugee community and other international volunteers too. It prioritises dignity and respect in every service it provides.
The £60,000 we are aiming to raise will pay for the rent for their community centre for an entire year. The running costs of a project are typically the hardest to find funding for, so it of particular importance to be able to provide this for Khora, to secure a stable future for the project. All fund-raised money goes to Khora, and none on the ride.
