About

I am going to the Jamboree as a volunteer to work on the International Service Team, helping to run the event for the participant Scouts.I am 18, currently studying for my A Levels at Chingford Foundation School and have been a Scout since I was six years old. I am training to become a Leader and this will fulfil my dream of attending a World Scout Jamboree as well as be my first trip beyond Europe.I'm really excited, especially as I've always been intrigued by Japanese culture. The experience will help me to earn both my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and my Queen Scout Award and will be a real achievement before I start University in September.

Toby's Peace Crane Hike Challenge

I am planning a unique and special hike. If all goes according to plan, I shall be creating the outline of the Jamboree UK Contingent peace crane logo on a map using a tracking app. This will require detailed preparation and very careful navigation as the total distance will probably be something like 30 miles and it will be tricky to make the final image look really good.I have not yet finalised the route or confirmed the date but have started working on the project design.
