We’re asking you to help us raise cash for an incredibly worthy cause. It’s not sexy or trendy, but it’s helping people who are truly desperate. Ethiopia has a population of 100million. It has one hospice. Many thousands of Ethiopians have incurable diseases. They are dying in distress, often in pain, with nowhere to turn. Their only hope is Hospice Ethiopia.
Hospice Ethiopia provides free drugs, so that the dying have relief from pain. It provides medical attention to alleviate the worst symptoms. It gives support, so that patients can care for themselves and, in many cases, their children.
But what’s really, really important is that Hospice Ethiopia is training doctors, nurses and other medics about palliative care – care for the dying – so that they can bring relief to the thousands more who need it, across Ethiopia.
Hospice Ethiopia has no government funding. It needs £70,000 a year to survive. It’s not much, in the great scheme of things, but they struggle to raise it. Every penny makes a real difference. Your donation will make a real difference. Please, splash your cash!

We did it! Even though the pool turned on the wave machine half way through! We battled on... AND did the last length as butterfly (thanks to Winterhalter and Classeq for paying the £200 each) BUT BUT BUT it's not too late...please donate to this fab cause...
5k swim. Eurgh. So splash your cash! We are doing the Swimathon on April 7 at The Splash, Sheringham.
Meanwhile, here’s a wee challenge to make donation more interesting. John is a honed triathlete. He’s aiming to do the swim in 90 minutes or less. Tim read somewhere that fat is more buoyant than muscle, so his approach to training has been more left wing. He’s hoping to do the swim in under 2 hours. If you sponsor us, use the message facility to put in your best guess as to what the exact difference in time between John and Tim will be (30 minutes? 25? 34? ) and you could win a beautiful Ethiopian scarf. I guess is would cost up to £100 here (it was £25 in Ethiopia).
PLUS if you donate £100, you can pick one of the following Herculean Swimathon tasks, for either brother:
Swim a length back stoke
Swim a length Butterfly
Swim the last length butterfly (cost: £200)
Event is completed
