40th Year challenge to run every day for a year, a minimum of 1 mile per day, hitting a target of 1000 miles in the year with 500 other people

Growing up I was the kid who was completely useless at every sport. At 38, as most of you know I hit the dizzy heights of 20 stone. I knew I had to sort myself out, so on July 22nd 2014 after postponing it far too many times,I slipped on my trainers and banged out the slowest, most painful 2 mile run ever. I had one rule, no walking, but I could run as slowly as I had to keep the memento going. After I finished, I felt awesome! Just getting out and getting started was the hardest thing and from there on in I became addicted and just wanted to run more and more. Since beginning the journey I have lost in excess of 5 stone.
The Magic Mile
I pledge to run every day for the year of my 40th. I will cover at least a mile each day. I want to encourage as many people as I can to come out with me and gettheir trainers on. This is going to take some effort, but I will make this happen. I want this year to count for something, so I have decided I will raise sponsorship for two charities. Firstly, Banwell Buddies, my local independentpre-school who did such fantastic work with my kids back in the day and also Bibic. My best matey suffers with Autism, and these guys have done some amazing things helping him along his journey. So in return for your input I promise thefollowing will complete a minimum of 1000 miles within the year
I will run with a minimum of 500 of you for at least 1 mile.
I will raise a minimum of £1500 for each of charities
I will complete a Marathon
I will compete in a TriathlonIfyou fancy a run – email me firstname.lastname@example.org and check my progress at www.themagicmile.co.uk
