About

There are currently 6 members of staff signed up for the whole event, all covering a minimum of over a marathon each (taking into account group and paired runs for safety considerations as well as individual legs)

We are - James Ellis (Headteacher) Ashley Caress (Deputy Headteacher) Toby Ellis (Teacher) Matt Page (Teacher) Richard Butterworth (Teacher) and Darren Wilson (Financial Analyst)

We will be supported by Joe Bogumsky (Outdoor Education Lead) who has planned the route and safety considerations.

The difficulty of the task is extremely high when you take into account the relentless expectation of all runners over a constant 24 hour period with no room for mistakes or a dip in speed consistency!

We all feel passionately about a project at our forest school. The pupils have built a make shift stage so they can perform in the outdoors to an audience. This has proved very successful and is helping immensely with pupil self esteem and well being.  We want to raise £2000 to install a safer, sturdier stage and seating area for the pupils.

Event details

The Great GANF Run 2018

What is the challenge?
To complete a 115 mile run in just 24 hours, without stopping! Core team members will have to run over a marathon each!!

Where is it taking place?
The run will begin at Ambergate on Friday 20th July 2018. The route will see the group pass through Caythorpe, Spilsby, Boston and Spalding before returning to Ambergate in Grantham the next day!

How will it work?
The plan is for at least 1 member of the core team to be running at all times until completion. The route has been split up into multiple legs, allowing for smooth transitions in a relay like fashion. Along the route the team will run together, in pairs and individually dependent on the safety aspects.

The run is planned and carried out solely by GANF staff with Joe Bogumsky taking charge of the route and safety of the runners. Between Joe and the team everyone will support each other with the logistics of the challenge!

We actively encourage as many GANF staff to come and join us and take part in legs to raise extra sponsorship and challenge themselves to a personalised mile goal!
