Ned, Henry and Simon are competing in the Ironman 70.3 in Zell am See, Austria to raise money for The Goed Life in conjunction with Northgate School.
Raising money for
Northgate School Arts College
Donations accepted until 26-11-2018
Ned, Henry and Simon went to the university of Bath together, graduating in 2017. Ned recently set up The Goed Life, an organsation to enhance the lives of and provide relief to people with learning disabilities through the provision of support services including respite, training, holidays and other forms of care. Our primary mission is to help people with learning disabilities find and retain meaningful employment, giving them a sense of direction, purpose and belonging in their local community.
In this particular challenge Ned, Henry and Simon are raising money for Northgate School Arts College to support the Hortihub in their ambition to help aldults with learning disabilities attain a sense of purpose through gardening and ultimately to be able to work on peoples gardens in their local community such as elderly people. As such the Hortihub requires a minibus along with tools and other gardening equipment to be able to support this.
Zell am See Ironman 70.3
The race is 70.3 miles in length consisting of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile cycle and finaly a 13.1 mile run.
After a frustrating trip to Austria where the cylcing element of the race was cancelled due to sub-zero temperatures resulting in hypothermia risk, we have now signed up for the Allerthorpe Triathlon this weekend.
The support has been overwhelming and we wanted to reflect that in our challenge so we weren't satisfied with the Swim Run in Austria.
The Allerthrope tri is the same distance as in Austria - 70.3 miles - so we will be able to complete the task we promised you we would achieve!
Thank you again for everyone who has donated so far and we are looking forward to racing the whole distance this weekend!
