John O'Groats to Land's End bike ride for CamCRAG
In September I am cycling with four Cambridge friends the length of Britain, from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
We are fundraising as part of a team – see our team page.
We are covering all of the costs of the ride, so everything we raise will be donated to our selected charities. Each of us is cycling for a different charity, or charities. I have chosen Cambridge Convoy Refugee Action Group.
CamCRAG became a UK registered charity in October 2016 (charity number 1170180). We are a group of volunteers from Cambridge working to help the refugees in Northern France and elsewhere. We send regular convoys to the camps. Our aims are to raise awareness of the situation, to raise funds, and to organise donations of clothing and other items. All of the money we raise goes towards providing aid in the refugee camps or to support our convoys. We are part of a growing movement of people in Cambridge and the UK who want to do something to help those displaced by war and persecution. Since November 2015, we’ve collected nearly £60,000 through cash donations and fund-raising events, and have organised 14 convoys to Northern France up to June 2017.

Cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End
We’ve planned an interesting route which avoids most main roads and large cities. We are unassisted - that is we have no support vehicle and will carry all of our kit ourselves. It’s about 1,150 miles over 19 days.
We’ll be starting from John O’Groats on 6 September, and will reach Lands End on 24 September.
