Stronachs Run in aid of Friends of Anchor
Once again team Stronachs are back in action on the running front to raise as much as we can for our nominated charity of the year, which this year is Friends of Anchor.
Liane, Liz, Ian, Anna, Joni, Bess, Eilidh, David, Ross, Liz, Callum and Duncan make up the current pool of runners and they would all be very grateful for any donations received in order to spur them over the finishing lines.
A little bit of information about FoA follows:
The clinics and wards of the Aberdeen and North-east Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy (ANCHOR) Unit operate within the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to treat patients with all forms of cancer, leukaemia and benign blood disorders.
Friends of ANCHOR was set up to directly support cancer and haematology patients by committing long-term funding to the following 3 areas:
Medical equipment - investing in the latest technology, Patient wellbeing - offering additional car, comfort and support to patients and Leading cancer research - funding local cancer research to push the boundaries in the fight against the disease.
All sorts of running
We will be taking part in various running events throughout 2017 including Baker Hughes 10K on 14th May and Great Aberdeen Run on 27th August 2017. This list will of course keep growing and, with your support, Stronachs runners will do their best to rack up as many miles over the year as possible.
