As a long-time member of the Bluebell Railway Preservation Society, and a regular volunteer in the trimming workshop at the C&W Dept., I have always had a deep passion for the long-term development and success of the Bluebell.
Since my election as BRPS Vice-Chairman in 2016, I am even more convinced that we are at a very exciting time in the potential development of the Railway and all those associated with it. Many new plans and ideas are being identified to encourage, create and sustain a flourishing future.
A key aspect to support this vision is to ensure we have a permanent way which will be sustainable for many decades to come, so that's why on 18th November I'm doing the Track Trek again this year.
Last year I managed to raise £867 by walking the full length of the line. This year I would like to raise even more for the Tr(ack) Action Appeal, and would be hugely grateful if you could sponsor me.
Thank you for taking the trouble to read this, and if you are able to support me, my sincere thanks.
Bluebell Railway Track Trek 2017
Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Bluebell Railway's 5th sponsored "Track Trek", an 11 mile walk between East Grinstead and Sheffield Park stations on Saturday 18 November 2017.
The walk took place during the daytime, raising money for the Tr(ack) Action Appeal, that was formally launched in October. This is an appeal set up to raise £250,000 for the renewal of track along parts of the Railway. The target for the Track Trek is to raise £15,000 which will buy a new 60 foot track panel.
A complimentary bus service operated to take trekkers from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead in the morning and then back to their original starting point at the end of the Track Trek.
Participants registered in advance for the Trek. Details of this are available at www.bluebell-railway.me.uk/fund/TrackTrek2017.pdf
