Support for Haitham and Mohammed
CATT training enables professionals working with children who have experienced war or violence to recover from traumatic symptoms and regain their childhoods.
Haitham is a community development worker and Mohammed was a Project Manager for USAID, until last year. Each has ten years' experience of working with children in Gaza on behalf of international aid agencies and the UN.
Donations requested for Haitham and Mohammed
Luna is sponsoring Haitham and Mohammed to join CATT training in Bristol in November. The course is being run for people working in voluntary organisations which work with refugees from all over the world. It will be led by experienced Bristol-based art psychotherapist and CATT trainer Anna Kalin. She will be supported by Luna trainer Maria Chambers who has herself worked with children in Palestine. We need your help to pay for Haitham and Mohammed's travel and accommodation costs, as well as to fund their places on the course itself. If we exceed our target for these two, or they are unable to leave Gaza due to a last-minute closure of the crossing, we will transfer the funds towards our next training course in Turkey, unless you tell us not to do so.
