Six legs six wheels
In the past year we have seen slithers of political progress. In Ireland, some of those seeking refuge may soon be able to work whilst their asylum claims are processed. Ethiopia and Eritrea seek to end years of conflict. And across Europe we have seen acknowledgment that better distributing the opportunities and stresses of accommodating newcomers is needed. (This is begrudging, and forced by Italy's intransigence, let's not get ahead of ourselves - but it is an advance).
Individuals continue to give their time, hearts and money to make small, tangible improvements to the lives of others.
Khora provide refugees in Athens the basic needs of nutritious food, warm clothing & dental care. And they provide broader social needs - of education, childcare, and access to asylum information. And the simplest of all - a safe place to build relationships, smile, and relax.

In the last two years Thighs have raised £150,000 to support the running costs and ensure the young charity can maintain its work in Greece.
London to Athens 2018
A group of not-so-serious cyclists have set themselves the serious challenge of cycling between London and Athens. The ride is a relay-style challenge, with each participant taking on a week or two of the overall trip.
We are fundraising for Khora; a grassroots, proactive association running a community centre in Athens. Their centre provides basic and human needs for people without freedom of movement. This includes free nutritious food, clothing, education, access to information and a safe space to build relationships and relax.
Equally important to what they offer, is how they offer it. Khora is run by volunteers from all over the world. Its team includes members of the local Greek community, the refugee community and other international volunteers too. It prioritises dignity and respect in every service it provides.
The £60,000 we are aiming to raise will pay for the rent for their community centre for an entire year. The running costs of a project are typically the hardest to find funding for, so it of particular importance to be able to provide this for Khora, to secure a stable future for the project. All fund-raised money goes to Khora, and none on the ride.
