Shrewsbury School running for Alder Hey
Charity Fundraising Shrewsbury School
Alder Hey Hospital is the busiest children's hospital in the UK, and Shrewsbury School is running the Shrewsbury Half to raise as much as possible.
Raising money for
Alder Hey Children's Charity 2015
We are running for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital because it has played a significant role in the life of one particular Shrewsbury School pupil. He has spent much of his life in and out of hospital as a result of being diagnosed with the rare connective tissue disorder Hadju-Cheney (he is one of roughly 100 in the world with this condition). He can’t even remember exactly how many operations he has endured through his life so many have there been, but despite the considerable adversity he has faced, he brings a determination and resilience to all that he does, and he is an inspiration to many. In supporting the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital through the Shrewsbury Half Marathon, this inspiring young man hopes to be able to thank the hospital for all that they have done for him over the years, and he also hopes to raise awareness of his condition.
