I am running London 2018 in support of The Shaw Trust, a charity particularly close to my heart - having provided incredible support to my brother Will over many years.
The charity was formed in 1982 in the village of Shaw in Wiltshire to support local disabled people to find employment. It now supports over 50,000 people a year to live independent and inclusive lives.
I hope my physical struggle between December and April serves as an acknowledgment of the much harder struggles that many less abled people have to cope with every day, and raises money to make a real difference to their lives.
This will be my first, and very likely last, marathon!
I am running with my great friend Fin, who has been a running companion of mine over many miles and for over a decade now. Since our first run together we have had 5 children, 5 jobs, many laughs, a vat of coffee and even some tears. 26 miles will be the icing on the cake!
Fin is raising money for Coram's, another great cause; you can donate to her page here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Fionnuala
Any donation to either of us is money well spent, and hard earned!
Thank you for anything you can give.
