Sandeep Ladva Climbs Kilimanjaro for the HNCF
In September 2016, I will be taking on the challenge of a lifetime and will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Head and Neck Cancer Foundation. HNCF is an independent charity that support ground-breaking research into the treatments of head and neck cancer. The face is a person’s window into the world, as well as being the window through which we are viewed. The object of the HNCF is to minimise the impact of cancer surgery so that patients can still integrate easily into their community and maintain their quality of life, with your donations we can help make a massive difference to the future of head and neck cancer treatment.
Kilimanjaro Climb for the HNCF
As one of the ‘Seven Summits’, at 5895m Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is the highest point in Africa and the tallest free standing mountain in the world.
Mount Kilimanjaro is at an altitude that is aptly categorised in climbing parlance as extreme. The body does not cope well at very high altitude, let alone extreme altitude, unless it has had lots of time to acclimatise. The trek will last 7 days ascending up through the jungle, passing through moorland and scree en-route to the snow capped summit.
The trek will be through Kandoo Adventures. Check out their website :)
