Sponsored walk for Give a Child a Hope
Barney and I are both 18, and having recently finished our A-Levels we had some time on our hands, and wanted to find something worthwhile to do with it. It was at this point I was approached by one of the charity’s trustees (and close family friend) Debbie Walker. She asked if we’d be in interested in heading out to the centre in Uganda to help out for a couple’ve weeks. Having both grown up hearing about the work and the progress that was being made out there to support disadvantaged children we signed up immediately. However we also decided to do some fundraising for the centre to accompany our visit. Specifically we wanted to raise money for fencing and equipment for a new playground.
Walk of the Yorkshire three peaks
In order to raise money we have decided to do a sponsored walk of the Yorkshire three peaks, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. The walk consists of 24 miles, and 1585m of elevation, and should take around ten hours to complete.
