About

Sam and Gus are students at Eton College who are raising money for Horatio's Garden. Horatio was a student at Eton, in their house at school before his life was tragically cut short at 17, when his camp was attacked by a polar bear while on an expedition in Svalbard in 2011.

Horatio had wanted to study medicine and as a volunteer at Salisbury hospital had identified through his research, that spinal injury patients stays were between 6 & 9 months in hospital. As a result they needed a garden to which they could escape from sterile hospital wards, for relaxation time with friends & family.

Horatio's Garden Salisbury was set up in his memory and a second Horatio's Garden Glasgow opened in 2016.
Patients can take part in activities in the garden organised by the charity, including garden therapy, art therapy, food events & music concerts.

The planned third Horatio's Garden which is to be built at Stoke Mandeville, has been designed by Joe Swift, a talented garden designer & television celebrity.

Sam and Gus are kayaking together in a K2 and hoping to raise a large sum of money so that the Horatio's Garden at Stoke Mandeville can be built this summer 2017.
