In March 2018 our world imploded. The centre of our universe was gone. My husband, my three children’s father, the love of our lives.
Ben went scuba diving off the coast of Kent, he never surfaced, he never came home to us.
At our lowest, most desperate point, Holding On Letting Go reached out to us when no one else could or would. After weeks of having doors closed in our faces, they opened their arms and took us in.
I hope, from the bottom of my heart, that you or your children never experience the horror of loss like this, but if you do, HOLG will catch you and help you and make you feel slightly less alone.
I am no athlete, this is going to HURT, it already does, but no physical pain will ever match the emotional agony of telling my children their dad was gone.
Please, please, donate what you can, you’ll be showing my family and me the greatest support and I know the amazing team at HOLG will appreciate every single penny.
The marathon takes place on April 7 2019.
It is 26.2 miles. It’s going to be brutal but knowing I might make a genuine difference to other children in unimaginable pain will keep me putting one foot on front of the other for as long as it may take.
