About

Dr Clare Cassidy, a very close friend and colleague died suddenly on 16th September 2008. She was only 40 years old and is greatly missed by those who knew her. She was a sensitive, passionate and inspirational person who hated seeing injustices in the world. One of her passions was to improve access to education for people of all ages in India.
As a result, The Cassidy Trust (a registered charity) has been established to further this passion. The Trust believes that education, in all its forms, empowers people to improve their lives. Their key aim is to increase access to education for people of all ages in Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in India (c. 200 million inhabitants). More details can be found on their website http://www.cassidytrust.org

I'm Going Sober for 40 days for The Cassidy Trust

Given the dodgy state of both of my knees, a marathon is out of the question at the minute so I was pleased to see the 'Go Sober for October' campaign being used by other charities (i.e., no alcohol for the month of October). Having started on 1st October, I have now extended my sobriety to 40 days - 1 day for each year of Clare's life. It would be great if you felt able to contribute, no matter how little, to this new but incredibly ambitious charity named in honour of Clare who is still missed by so many of us daily.
