I am off to Nepal to climb Lhotse, which at 8,516m is the 4th highest mountain in the world.
Donations accepted until 01-09-2017
I am a former finance professional that has recently set out to explore the world and life from different angles. My blog, rocketontour.com, documents my journey. A part of that journey involves supporting worthy causes such a children in need, education, sports, medical research etc.
Climbing Lhotse April/May 2017
Scaling one of the 8,000ers has always been a dream of mine and in 2017 I want to make it reality (against the wishes of more sane people) by climbing Lhotse @ 8,516m. The mountain has been climbed exactly 600 times (including 12 Germans) to date and I would like to make it +1.
Preparations for the expedition started already summer 2016 to get the fitness levels up. More training has since been completed with trips to Scotland, technical winter ascents in the alps and higher altitude North African mountains. On 25th of March I will fly out to Nepal and start acclimatising (itinerary: http://everestexpedition.co.uk/lhotse/). My guide, Tim Mosedale, is one of the strongest British mountaineers having summited Everest 5x.
All of my travel & equipment expenses are self funded. However, I would like to use this event to raise funds to support a number of charities.
I will post updates throughout on my blog rocketontour.com and will circulate a video with highlights afterwards to all donors. For donors / group of donors of GBP2,000 or more I offer free post event presentations with a few more insights.
