Walking the Clarendon way for MOET school
Raising funds for a food program providing an extra meal every day following the State of Emergency and to build a secondary school at MOET
Raising money for
Donations accepted until 28-11-2016
I first visited MOET school in 2002 on a permaculture project planting trees and creating vegetable gardens when there were 30 children. Since then I have done a number of sponsored walks (the longest was 650km from Lac Leman to Nice), climbed Mount Mulanje with MOET and UK kids and even jumped out of a plane to raise funds to build the school. In 2010 myself and some like minded friends formed FOMOE to secure finances and now there are 300 children and 50 former MOET children at secondary school and 8 doing further education. We are very concerned about the impact of the State of Emergency so the first £2500 raised goes to this program. Local secondary schools have very large class sizes and lack resources and former MOET children have not been doing well in the system so we have decided to build our own to give them a decent chance in life. This is where the balance of funds will go.

Clarendon Way challenge
Walk 26 miles along the Clarendon Way from Winchester to Salisbury Cathedral for 2 projects at MOET school in Malawi
A State of emergency was declared in April following disastrous droughts so we are initiating an emergency food program to provide an extra meal every day for the children for 6 months..
Secondly to build our own secondary school. Local institutions operate in very challenging conditions with very large class sizes and a lack of resources and pastoral care so children leaving MOET primary school are suffering as a result
