I am a 50 year old who has been trying to keep what hair he has left, but for this charity I am happy to go bald in the winter - and hence will end up wearing terrible hats for weeks to come!!
Going on holiday with my family is always a special occasion and something to cherish. Woodlarks provides that same opportunity for those for whom taking a holiday is not an easy experience, I hope that my fundraising helps disabled people and their families to have an equally special time together.
Myself and my PwC colleagues in the PwC Asset and Wealth Management Tax team are going to be fund raising for Woodlarks over the next six months, kicking off with my bald shave!
Going Bald / Kojak for Woodlarks
If I raise enough donations I am committed to have my head shaved bald (details as to who and where to be determined).
I have added a bad photo of my current head of hair below.
Why do this? Woodlarks is a small charity based in Farnham Surrey, it runs a camp site with a difference; it provides camping holidays for the disabled - including probably the world's only wheelchair friendly zip-wire! The charity exists so that anyone, whatever their disability, can have the fun and friendship of affordable camping in an amazing and beautiful setting. For many, and their carers, Woodlarks is the only hope of a holiday in an environment which supports all of their needs.
Woodlarks also provides an amazing Christmas experience for disabled children via a spectacular Santa's grotto and lightshow. I have seen the fantastic work Woodlarks do at first hand and the joy and experiences it brings to disabled adults and children.
