About

As many of you know I raise money for charity every other year by taking on some kind of physical challenge.  This all started in 2005 with an Olympic distance triathlon in Windsor, and I seem to have escalated each time with my last effort being an Ultramarathon along Hadrian's wall in 2015.

Spinal Research are making fantastic progress towards overcoming paralysis caused by spinal injury.  It is a cause very dear to my heart after a great friend's brother was seriously injured in a rugby accident many years ago.

Age International helps older people in developing countries contribute to society and live dignified and fulfilling lives.  I have worked with Age UK for a long time and I am delighted to now be a Trustee of Age International.  ‘Age International’ is a restricted fund of Age UK, set up to support the work of Age International, Age UK’s charitable subsidiary.  Age International is the trading name of HelpAge International UK (registered charity No. 1128267–8)

The Orange Tree Theatre is our local theatre in Richmond, receives no Arts Council funding and needs £350k/year to support 10000 young people get closer to the arts.

The Outlaw Long Course Triathlon

In summary it's a bit mad.

6am 2.5mile (3800m) open water swim

7:30am(ish) 112mile (180km) bike ride which is non-drafting ie. can't ride in a group to hide from the wind and conserve energy

2pm (ish) marathon run - 26 miles/42km

7pm (hopefully) finish.  Lie down.
