Raising money for
Donations accepted until 31-05-2017
We are sisters Ellen and Rose Rickford. We believe that volunteer-led organisations are a really important part of life, and they've had a big impact on our lives.
On 30th April we walked 19 miles around Brighton & Hove! It was an epic 9 hour hike, and we did it to raise money for the wonderful Resource Centre.
The Resource Centre provides practical support to volunteer-led groups, to help people get things done in their communities. They are a very small organisation, so a little money really does have a big impact.
Rose has worked at the Resource Centre for 5 years, so we really understand how much difference a small amount can make to this wonderful charity.
Ellen works for Google, who are kindly going to match our sponsorship donations! So we will raise double what you give!
Any contribution you can make will be very gratefully received!
Thank you xxxxx
Walk with the Mayor for the Resource Centre
The Mayor of Brighton &Hove, Cllr Pete West, invites you to join him on a walk of the boundary of the city, and raise money for the Resource Centre!
Discover the biosphere at Castle Hill, take in the beauty of the South Downs, have a picnic in Stanmer Park and finish with tea in Portslade hosted by Emmaus.
The Resource Centre is a very small charity, and a little money really does go a very long way. Just £50 could pay for a new game to hire, a support session with a group, or an update to one of our useful information sheets.
The full walk is just over 18 miles, but don't be put off if that sounds too long - you can choose to do as much or as little as you like.
Participants can choose to raise money for any of the Mayor's chosen charities, including the Resource Centre.
The walk will also help establish a new designated pathway for the City.
What does the Resource Centre do?
The Resource Centre is a charity serving voluntary and community groups in the Brighton and Hove area. We are used by around 1000 different local groups every year, from playgroups to environmental campaigns, residents associations to arts organisations.
