Richard is running for Ruggles!
I want to thank everyone who has supported me and donated however I am very sorry to say that I have been forced to withdraw from this years Run. Unfortunately I suffered a serious injury to my back in June and despite every effort in the gym, with Physio and with grim determination I have not been able to recover to a point where I could even begin to run the race (I wouldn't be able to walk it as things stand today and an MRI is likely the next step to consider the way ahead).
I am gutted to have let you all down but I will do everything I can to be get over this and be back to complete the challenge next year.
Great North Run 2018
The Great North Run is the world's greatest half-marathon with over 50,000 runners. It passes through Gateshead, where Alice was murdered in 2016, and Alice's mum Sue ran the GNR in the following year 2017, raising over £10,000 for Women's Aid. In 2018 several runners, including Alice's dad Clive, will be taking part in the GNR to raise funds for the Trust.
