The Great North Swim
For reasons that are too complicated to explain, anyway I don’t’ really understand them myself, I find myself entered in the Great North Swim...

Woof, I'm Kola a Border Terrier and Richard's Coach (no one else would do it!) for his attempt to swim in the Great North Swim. I’m taking my job very seriously as you’ll see from the gallery!
On the 8 June 2018 thousands of swimmers will try the al fresco delights of an open water event in Lake Windermere in the Lake District. This is way out of his comfort zone – freezing cold water and not a gin & tonic in sight! He’s making a bit of a fuss about the wet suit too; I’m not surprised you should see him in it!
We are raising money for 3 great charities - Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, The RWHA Charity Fund and Winchester Go LD - details of each charity can be found on the individual pages.
Please support the old man if you can; he’s going to need all the encouragement he can get! And as an added incentive for every £100 raised over the target he’s promised me a bone and for every £500 a piece of fillet steak! Go on you know it makes sense! Thank you very much from us both.
The Great North Swim - 1 Mile
1 mile of torturous hell in an awful, tight fitting rubber suit, in freezing cold water with monsters and who knows what else below! As a submariner I will probably spend most of the time deep, involuntarily I suspect but at least I should get a movie or 2 in. Hopefully I’ll return to periscope depth occasionally to observe the heavenly bodies for navigational purposes and a quick snort to change the air and charge the batteries!
Event is completed
