Raleigh Rudgin it not trudgin it
The Rudge Pathfinder has been in my family since new, belonging to my uncle, Bob Skinner and then my father, Rob Stevenson. It was motorised by me in 2011 with a 1952 Trojan Mini Motor. Both of the two previous owners of the bike struggled with dementia in the last years of their life. The ride is a celebration not only of the lives of Bob and Rob but of the fact that if the three of us (the bicycle, the engine and me) return successfully we shall each of us be 65 or over years old.
An excursion by period motorised bicycle
Leaving Land's End on Friday 13th April the cyclemotor will hopefully make its way to the Stafford County Showground during the weekend 21st/22nd April where it will take a rest on the National Autocycle and Cyclemotor Club stand. Leaving on the Monday it will hopefully progress to Edinburgh. From where, after another short break it will take on the final challenge of the north of Scotland. Progress can be followed on the blog: raleighrudginit.wordpress.com
