My name is Rachel and I shall be embarking on the trip of a lifetime in 2017…climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. To climb this mountain has always been a dream of mine, but also be able to help people who are in need of clean, safe water will make the experience even more special and rewarding.
I am currently studying Physiotherapy at the University of Salford and play volleyball for the University as well as being the Chairperson for the Volleyball Club. In addition, I am fortunate through volleyball to have met an inspirational and amazing friend called Giulia. I enjoy exploring the outdoors and surrounding countryside through walking and hiking. The opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro provides the perfect combination of exercise, seeing the world and being able to give something back to communities in a different part of the world.
The challenge of raising funds for the charity and to achieve a dream of climbing this mountain, will be even more rewarding with the help of family and friends. I cannot wait to meet new people on this journey and share my experiences with you.
Thank you in advance for all of your support!
Climb Kilimanjaro for Clean Water 2017
Kilimanjaro is one of the toughest treks in the
world. The tallest free standing mountain on the planet stands at 5,895m. Our
fundraisers are undertaking this mammoth challenge to raise money for water and
sanitation projects in Kenya. 10 million Kenyans lack access to safe water,
held back by disease and disrupted education. By sponsoring a climber today you
can break the needless cycle of poverty.
