Rachael Acks is an American science fiction and fantasy writer who loves movies, and occasionally hates them with a radioactive passion that can only be described as Godzilla-esque. Over the last three years, she's raised over $2000 for a diverse array of charities by suffering through such cinematic horrors as Transformers 4: Age of Extinction and 50 Shades of Grey. Make Rachael Suffer Through Gods of Egypt
Gods of Egypt not only looks quite terrible, but it's supposedly set in Egypt and the only thing whiter than this movie that's come out of Hollywood lately is the 2016 Oscar lineup. The lack of diversity in film (and on stage) has become more and more pronounced in recent years, and there's less and less excuse for it. So here is the deal. You donate money to Act For Change and I will watch this probably awful movie the weekend it comes out, while drunk because I wish to survive the experience, and then will tell you all about itonce I've sobered up enough to type. I will also post my handwritten notes of the experience, which are guaranteed to become increasingly unreadable on scale with my level of inebriation. If you beat the totals donated by the team of sadists that made me watch 50 Shades of Grey ($843), I will record a terrible video of myself attempting to explain the plot while still plastered.
