Stok Kangri trek
A week-long trek in Ladakh in northern India, culminating in an attempt to summit Stok Kangri (6,137m / 20,134ft).
Donations accepted until 21-10-2018
As someone who loves spending time in the mountains and taking on a challenge, I've signed up for an attempt on Stok Kangri (6,137m). This is one of the highest trekking peaks in the Himalaya, and is significantly higher than I've climbed in the past. It will be a real physical and mental challenge.
I'm paying the full costs of the trip myself but would like to take the opportunity to raise some funds for worthwhile causes too.
I've chosen two charities to support. Firstly, SAMH, Scotland's mental health charity, works to provide support, promote good mental health, and end stigma and discrimination. I also want to support a charity doing work in the area I will be visiting, and Himalayan Children works to further the education of young people in the remote Ladakh region.

UPDATE: SUCCESSFUL SUMMIT ATTEMPT ON 18/07/18!
I'll be trekking in the remote mountains of Ladakh in northern India for around a week with Exodus Travels. The trip will begin with several nights in the town of Leh (3,500m) to help us acclimatise. We'll then be wild camping in the mountains for the next eight nights, crossing mountain passes and taking in Palam Peak (5,380m). The trip will culminate in an attempt to summit Stok Kangri (6,137m) - this will be a long and demanding mountain day of 12+ hours at high altitude!
