This summer my mate Ben and I are joining the Thighs of Steel crew for one leg of their six week adventure to Athens.

This ride will raise money for Khora; a community centre in Athens providing basic and human needs for people without freedom of movement, arriving into Greece.

Khora's kitchen provides meals for 400-600 people, six days a week and the education team offer 20 language classes to 400 students everyday! As well as food and language classes, the community centre also has a creche, library, music facilities etc. and it needs your cash to keep going!

Ben and I will be cycling from Sofia over the Bulgarian mountains into Greece, which sounds like a dream but I'm sure it will be sweaty.

So, if you can donate the cost of your last pint or two that would be fantastic. I'll know when my thighs are burning that it hasn't all been in vein!

Thank you so much in advance, I really appreciate it!

London to Athens 2018

A group of not-so-serious cyclists have set themselves the serious challenge of cycling between London and Athens. The ride is a relay-style challenge, with each participant taking on a week or two of the overall trip.

We are fundraising for Khora; a grassroots, proactive association running a community centre in Athens. Their centre provides basic and human needs for people without freedom of movement. This includes free nutritious food, clothing, education, access to information and a safe space to build relationships and relax.

Equally important to what they offer, is how they offer it. Khora is run by volunteers from all over the world. Its team includes members of the local Greek community, the refugee community and other international volunteers too. It prioritises dignity and respect in every service it provides.

The £60,000 we are aiming to raise will pay for the rent for their community centre for an entire year. The running costs of a project are typically the hardest to find funding for, so it of particular importance to be able to provide this for Khora, to secure a stable future for the project. All fund-raised money goes to Khora, and none on the ride.
