Phil Letts is fundraising for Northampton Headway
As a keen cyclist I’ve always ridden lots of the local amateur sportives. In March last year during a ride based at Towcester, I had a bad fall from the bike and sustained a serious head injury. This acquired brain injury meant weeks in critical care before a huge amount of challenging rehabilitation work. It really was a life-changing event. Thankfully due to the support of family, friends and the NHS, I’m now back doing what I love, cycling.
Prudential Ride London 100 miler
I have been lucky enough to gain a place on the country’s premier sportive, the Prudential Ride London 100 miler. This national cycling festival ride (along with 25000 other cyclists!) takes place in and around London on August 2nd 2015, using the original Olympic road race course. Riding for a charity is a key aspect of the event and for me it would be an ideal opportunity to raise money for people who, like me, have suffered a serious head trauma.
