Climb Mt Toubkal for 40tude - curing colon cancer
Winter ascent of Mt Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa (4,167m) in Feb 2018 - raising awareness and funds for 40tude to cure colon cancer.
Raising money for
40tude curing colon cancer
After years of sponsoring others but doing very little/nothing myself, I thought it was time to get off my backside, do something that I'm assured will be fun (really!) and raise some dosh for a wonderful cause. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us, my legs will take the strain and I'll cope with the altitude - if so, I'm sure it will be fun, but if not, it could get messy. Hopefully somebody will show me how to use an ice axe and crampons before we start....
Mt Toubkal Ascent, Winter 2018
For 40tude’s inaugural mountaineering challenge a team of 26 novice mountaineers attempted a summit of Mount Toubkal, Northern Africa’s highest mountain, in early February 2018.
Our ascent of the mountain in winter, using crampons and ice axes to keep safe in the deep snow and wind, was physically and mentally challenging - definitely a great personal achievement for all who took part.
Thank you for your kind support of the expedition team who were brave enough to take on 40tude's first-ever mountaineering challenge - an amazing achievement.
