In memory of Oliver Dowling with all donations going to the Oliver's Wish foundation supporting charities for children and young people
Raising money for
Oliver's Wish Foundation
Donations accepted until 12-11-2017
My wife Anna and I are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on August 12th 2017. In autumn 2015 our friends Rob and Anna lost their son inexplicably in his sleep. Oliver had been a healthy and happy child but then just like that he was gone. Having young children of our own, Anna and I were deeply shocked. I went to the funeral, a day raw with emotion and sadness but also amazing courage from Rob and Anna. Rob stood in the church and spoke so bravely about the joy Oliver had brought them in his short life and the support they had received from friends, family, the local and rugby community (Anton Oliver, ex All Blacks captain, is a patron). We are completing this challenge to raise money for the Oliver's Wish foundation, a charity that Rob and Anna have set up in his memory that supports a range of charities focused on the support of children and young people. These include Chestnut Tree house the only children's hospice in Sussex, the Lullaby trust and Sparks. Thank you very much for your donations.
Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge
Rob and Anna had their world torn apart when Oliver their son didn't wake up one morning. Anna and I want to contribute something to Oliver's memory and also in some small way hopefully reduce the chances of this happening to other families in the future.
We will be completing the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge which takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24-miles long, and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent.
Thank you very much for your donations.
