Pete died in a tragic accident doing what he loved, riding his bike. Since his death we have shared many good memories with different individuals and learnt how so many other people knew and valued the Pete that we, his closest family, knew. This is a tremendous comfort to Holly, Lucy and myself.

Pete also loved children and spent many happy hours playing with, and creating things for, his nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews. Often Uncle Pete was to be found playing with the toys long after the children had moved on to something else! Cyclists Fighting Cancer seemed to us to be an obvious charity to support, combing two of his great loves.  We also wanted to thank the Air Ambulance who turned up on the day just in case.

So sorry to hear the sad news about Pete. We still have happy memories of the good times, even though they were over 30 years ago.

I knew Pete for only just a few years but ascended Mnt Blanc with him in July 1980 on the Coventry Mountaineering Club Meet to Chamonix. He was a true gent and one of the world's dependable people, no more so than when on a mountain.

What a lovely man Pete was he will be sadly missed at Pilates. I'm sure we will think of Pete every class and wonder if he is pushing on with those hamstring stretches or just having a smile at our efforts . Love to Jude & girls
