About

I'm Pageant's webmaster, so I know how important Pageant’s Sponsorship Scheme is in helping poor Gambian children continue their education. As well as arranging individual sponsorship, Pageant has an Emergency Fund to help students at critical times.

Event details

Pageant’s Emergency Sponsorship Fund

All students in The Gambia must pay in some measure for their education. This disadvantages students from poorer families. Pageant's Sponsorship Programme enables members to sponsor a specific Gambian student if they wish to do so, ideally right through their education. Unfortunately, there are occasions when a sponsor might not be able to afford to continue their donations, or there could be sudden money problems in a Gambian family. In such cases Pageant uses its Emergency Sponsorship Fund to pay school fees and other necessary expenses, ensuring a student can continue in education. Pageant typically needs about £4,500 per year to run this scheme, so any help you can give will be most gratefully received.

If you would like to be involved in sponsoring Gambian children, but don't want to make a commitment to one student over a number of years, then please consider making a donation to our Emergency Sponsorship Fund.
