Olly Hatrick cycled 100 miles for Horatios Garden
Horatios Garden, as you probably know, is close to my heart. It has already created a beautiful garden at the Spinal Unit in Salisbury and this year a new project has started, creating a Scottish Horatios Garden at the Spinal Unit in Glasgow. Spinal injuries are some of the most devastating. Having a therapeutic garden at a spinal unit can dramatically help the recovery and rehabilitation of the patients. I will be cycling hard to try and raise funds for the Scotland's new Horatios Garden. Please give generously to this worthy cause.
The Prudential Ride London- Surrey 100
We did it! 100 miles..It was awesome but not without incident! It was a beautiful day and we were up at 4.30 am to get across London with our bikes. What a privilege to cycle the streets of London with no traffic. I made good progress getting out to the Surrey half way mark in 3.5 hours catching up with Mirry there. We were going well when unfortunately a lady swerved into me, sending me flying! A nasty crash.. but we bent my brakes back into place and hobbled to a nearby St Johns Ambulance where I was patched up and dosed up (legal drugs and energy shots) and managed to get back on after an hour. Thank you Mirry. We took Box Hill in our stride, actually enjoying it before zooming back into London and up the Mall to finish. What a party atmosphere and just in time for tea. (Well champagne actually!)
