Goring Gap Boat Club
This page is for the use of all the participants in the sponsored row.
Goring Gap Boat Club is one of the largest recreational boating clubs in the Thames Valley. Membership is open to all, from youngsters gaining their first rowing experience to veterans with a life time on the river.
The club’s aims are simple – “…to make it possible for members to enjoy unpowered boating….”.
Over the years it’s estimated that several thousand rowers have taken to the water under the guidance of GGBC, many of them competing in the ever popular Goring and Streatley Regatta.
But we currently occupy a temporary home near Pangbourne and need to build a new boathouse to provide a permanent base for the club, so we can continue to give as many potential rowers as possible the opportunity to enjoy this great sport. We need to raise a further £30,000 to achieve this.
The Long Row for a new Boathouse
A team of Goring Gap Boat Club members plan to raise funds by undertaking a sponsored row over 34 miles from Oxford to our current base next to the Oratory Boathouse near Pangbourne. If you would like to sponsor this venture you can do so by donating to this mydonate page.
Update. We did it! A great day out and another step towards our new boathouse. Still open for donations!
