About

For Ava Foundation is a small charity supporting children, young people & their families who have a cancer diagnosis and/or a condition that requires them to undergo a Bone Marrow or Stem Cell Transplant at Royal Manchester Children's & Alder Hey Hospitals.

Inspired by their own family's journey through childhood cancer, they raise money to fund 'Be There' boxes. Boxes contain treats & essentials to help support children & their families whilst in isolation.

There are approximately 50 transplants at Manchester & 6 - 8 at Alder Hey, per year. We need your help to raise £6000.00 a year to achieve our aims to Be There for families affected by cancer & bone marrow/stem cell transplants.

Ava has battled cancer twice. Aged 1 year old she was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer with spread to her lungs. She had intensive chemotherapy & lung surgery at Alder Hey and underwent a liver transplant at Birmingham Children's Hospital in August 2014. Sadly she became unwell again in May 2016 and was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

Ava spent much of her treatment for both cancers, in isolation.

Thank you for your support. Every penny counts!
