Firstly, a huge thanks for giving this page a look, and I really hope you can find anything - literally anything is a huge help - to help me out with this!
If you're not comfortable donating online, or would like to ask me about the trek or anything at all, you can reach me at Mindyconradyorke@aol.com
and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
I will be climbing Kilimanjaro in October to raise money for Stratford Eye and Cancer Hospital. Kili is the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world at a little over 19,000 feet.
I've elected to pay for entire trip myself - no donations made on this site will go towards paying for the climb, the trip or anything like that; it's all going directly to charity.
We will be climbing the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Known as the “Roof of Africa”, Mount Kilimanjaro peaks at 5895m above sea level, making the altitude one of the most challenging aspects.
We will be climbing the Lemosho Glades route, which is one of six official climbing routes up Kilimanjaro.
The company we are going with, selected the route because it is thought to be the best and safest route to the summit due to the fact it allows hikers to adjust less dramatically to the altitude.
On our climb, we will be camping in two-man tents in three-season sleeping bags. Washing and toilet facilities will be basic.
