We are Team Meat Feast Racing: Mike 'Porker' Harrison, John 'Lamb Chop' Bennett and Chris 'non meat-themed nickname' Newbigging. We are united by a love of motorcycle racing, disregard for our own wellbeing and total lack of shame.
Off road endurance moped race
Team Meat Feast Racing are competing in the RAF Wittering Mopedathon, held at Washbrook Farm motocross track in Cambridgeshire, in order to raise both funds and awareness for VHL disease.
In summary, VHL is a hereditary disease that effectively triggers the body to create cancerous cells, and can strike anywhere, any time, and those with the condition spend their lives repeatedly fighting with the disease and living with the consequences.
Thankfully, it is not common, but that also means research funding and awareness is lower than other more familiar cancers. Just by reading this, and hopefully by making a contribution, you are helping researchers advance their cause in treating VHL.
Team Meat Feast will be giving it their all: we'll get up from every crash, fix the bike every time it fails (we guarantee both will happen) in order to get to the finish and do our little bit in flagging up this very worthy cause.
