Martin and Alex's walk
We are taking part in the 2016 track trek for the Railway again and are looking for generous sponsorship towards the two good causes of ASH and OP4
Raising money for
Bluebell Railway Trust
Donations accepted until 31-03-2017
I am the finance director and a Trustee of Bluebell Railway, my son Alex is a train fanatic who is a member of the 9F Club and we both volunteer at the Railway regularly
Having taken part in previous track treks Alex has decided that we needed to walk the entire line in one go and registered us for this walk!! To give ourselves half a chance of completing this we plan to start at East Grinstead and walk to Sheffield Park as the general gradient is downhill!! It is still quite a long way on rough terrain and we don't anticipate it being easy but it would be worthwhile if we can raise a great amount of money.
I have been training in the gym (and curry house) to be as ready as possible but Alex has done no training what so ever so we will see who ends up carrying who by the end. There are no trains running due to our Autumn engineering possession so the only deadline in completion is darkness falling!
Bluebell Railway Track Trek 2016
With no trains running due to engineering works at Horsted Keynes this year's Track Trek sponsored walk will cover the entire line from East Grinstead to Sheffield Park, a distance of eleven miles. The walk will take place during the daytime on Saturday 12 November. This year's walk will raise money for two appeals with all funds being equally split between ASH - Accessible Steam Heritage and Operation Undercover Phase 4.
We have decided this year to offer a second, shorter walk for those who feel eleven miles is a bit too much. If a five mile walk sounds more to your liking then you can walk from Horsted Keynes to Sheffield Park.
A free bus service will operate to take you back to your original starting point.
