Mark Starling - Summit Mount Everest 2017
We would like you to donate to our chosen charities; Kier Foundation & The COINS Foundation.
As a proud Kier Construction Chartered Safety Professional working in Central London I manage high risk construction safety, for most this would be enough but I’m really determined to use my day job to my advantage to bring me home safe from my summit attempt to Mount Everest via the North Ridge to a height of 8842m.
I am a keen extreme sports enthusiast and in my spare time I have been completing the world's toughest endurance races as part of a lifelong ambition. I aim to complete the worlds seven tallest summits!
In the past some of the races I have successfully finished;
- The Marathon Des Sables
- The race to the North Pole on ski's
- The Devizes to Westminster international canoe race
Summit of Mount Everest
On the 02nd April 2017 I will be leaving the UK for Nepal for an expedition to the “Top of the World” and returning sometime in June 2017.
Leading up to this date I will be training very hard, getting lots of experience in cold weather and high altitude locations, so an experience in itself. As you would expect I’m apprehensive as well as excited about the climb and feel so privileged to be able to climb to the Summit of Mount Everest at 8842 metres.
To date, only around 4000 people have successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest.
I hope you can give generously, thank you kindly.
