Fundraising for Friends of Chichester Hospitals
On the 8th of October I will be running the Chichester Half Marathon to help raise money for Friends of Chichester Hospitals. Exactly 11 months before that date, my son, Michael Andreas, was born. At 6 weeks premature, his lungs didn't respond as they should and he wasn't ready for the real world just yet. He needed that extra care. We ended up staying at the neonatal unit at St. Richards for just under 2 weeks, and in those weeks both Michael and I got the best of care. Dave and I can never say thank you enough to the staff for their continued care and support during and after our stay, but one of things Dave and I noticed was all the essential equipment that was donated by the Friends of Chichester Hospitals, and decided that we needed to give back.
The Friends support St Richard's Hospital and mental health services in practical ways - providing support and funding medical and therapeutic equipment which is beyond the means of the hospital's NHS budget.
Please help me raise money for this great charity. Thank you for your support!
Chichester Half Marathon
The race includes a mixture of road, cross country and cycle path terrain. The route takes in the historic sites of Chichester, including the Cathedral and the city walls, before heading up to the pinnacle of the South Downs - the Trundle - and winding back down to Chichester via the Centurion Way.
