Help Maria train teachers in Rwanda!
Did you know that 190 million schoolchildren around the world can’t read this sentence? I want to do something to change this, and you can help me.

A child’s education should be a right and not a priviledge. This is unfortunately not the case in many developing countries around the world, Rwanda being one which faces many unique challenges and barriers to education within their schools. One of the main issues is the lack of teacher training that they receive. So to help, I am taking on a new challenge this summer to travel to Rwanda as part of a LRTT (Limited Resources Teacher Training) charity project. I will travel to Rwanda and spend 3 and a half weeks of my summer training teachers, delivering conferences and in school training, helping to build their capacity to lead training within their own schools. All these schools have huge barriers to high quality education. This teacher training will have a direct impact both on the pupils in these schools at the moment but also for generations to come. Each teacher is likely to teach thousands within their career. Education is the single best route out of poverty.
If you are able to donate anything towards my project I will be forever greatful. The total costs are £2500, and I am trying to raise £1000 towards it. Thank you, you never know the long term impact it could have!
LRTT Limited Resource Teacher Training
Creating sustainable and empowering teacher training communities built around engaging, relevant, research-driven training models. Limited resource teacher training enhances the quality of teaching and leadership in the communities where it works. LRTT recruits and trains teachers from Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and the USA before taking them to work with our partner organisations in countries around the world.
The teachers spend one month in these communities, understanding the local culture and education system before delivering training to local teachers. They take their best practice and share it with people that have little access to this high-quality training, sustainably improving educational outcomes for generations of students in the future.
