We, Manda’s friends & family, would like to honour her memory by raising £15,000 for Sue Ryder, Duchess of Kent Hospice
Raising money for
Duchess of Kent House Charity
Manda spent her final 12 days at Sue Ryder, Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading. She knew she was coming to the end of her life and had previously visited the hospice so knew the setup & surroundings.
After spending the first week having her pain controlled by the amazing staff there Manda said “I really feel like I’m being cared for with love & respect”. Their work enabled Manda to have relatively pain free visits from her boys, Donnie (13) and Freddy (10) which we know she was incredibly grateful for. She literally lived for those moments! The Duchess of Kent staff enabled Manda to be surrounded by her family & friends during her final days and to pass away without pain.
Incredibly, the Duchess of Kent Hospice is 100% funded by donations. Having witnessed the amazing work that they do every minute of every day we feel the need to assist with a small part of their fundraising efforts.
As Manda’s friends & family, we are aiming to raise at least £15,000 as this is the amount it costs Sue Ryder to run the group of 3 local hospices PER DAY!
We will undertake multiple activities and we will not stop until we have raised £15,000.
Thank you x
